Doug Ford is a businessman and leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario.    

Doug’s commitment to public service runs in his family. Three generations of Fords have served the people of Ontario in elected office. He resides in Etobicoke with his wife Karla and four daughters. Doug and his family have been lifelong residents of their community. His service to the public includes over 20 years of dedicated work with the Toronto West Rotary Club.    

In 2010 Doug was elected to Toronto City Council, continuing a longstanding tradition of serving the residents of Etobicoke North. At City Hall, Doug worked tirelessly as Vice Chair of the Budget Committee, delivering hundreds of millions of dollars in savings for taxpayers.    

A firm believer in our party and its ideals, Doug has worked on the frontlines of the Ontario PC Party for decades.

Douglas Robert Ford Jr. MPP (born November 20, 1964) is a Canadian politician and businessman who has served as the 26th and current premier of Ontario since June 2018 and leader of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party since March 2018. He represents the Toronto riding of Etobicoke North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

With his brother Randy, Ford co-owns Deco Labels and Tags, a printing business operating in Canada and the United States that was founded by their father, Doug Ford Sr., who served as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) from 1995 to 1999. Ford was a Toronto city councillor for Ward 2 Etobicoke North from 2010 to 2014 at the same time that his brother, Rob Ford, was mayor of Toronto. Ford ran for the 2014 Toronto mayoral election, where he placed second behind John Tory. In 2018, Ford won the party leadership election of the PC Party and led the PCs to majority victories in the 2018 and 2022 general elections.

Ontario's Doug Ford on 'attainable' housing, crime, the media and politics 2024.02.22

Ontario Premier Doug Ford joined Toronto 640 host John Oakley for an exclusive sit-down interview on Thursday, where he was asked about housing affordability, crime and auto thefts, budget concerns, the media and more.

Ford lashed out over Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault's controversial remarks on federal road funding, saying he was "out to lunch."

"What are we doing? Are we going to be riding on horseback or bicycles or whatever?" He said.

He also spoke about crime and auto thefts across the GTA, delivering a call to action over the airwaves. "All the criminals over there listening, driving around in a stolen car. We're coming to get you. We're going to catch you and we're going to throw you in jail for a long time," he said.

When asked if he thought the media was fair to him, Ford said "not at all," but that "it's alright."
He called it "very political," to which Oakley pointed out: "You're in politics, though."

And, Ford attempted to clarify the difference between 'attainable' housing and affordable housing. 

The radio booking represents a rare long-form interview with the premier, who has not taken part in similar year-end interviews for several years.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says that his government will soon table legislation requiring future provincial governments to hold a referendum before introducing any new carbon pricing plans. He is joined at the news conference in Mississauga by Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy. The government will also introduce automatic license plate renewal for drivers in Ontario. Premier Ford also answers questions regarding the rise in opioid-related deaths in Ontario, and funding for universities and colleges.
